I’m grateful to be who I am. After 10 days of residency, I have the distinct feeling of being in the right place at the right time, and that everything I encounter along the way is already a part of me. No resistance. I observe, I welcome, I manifest, and I dance.

An authentic physical experience of wu wei, effortlessly, free to rediscover the connection with one’s own uniqueness through a sensation that arises spontaneously somewhere in the body and externalizes itself in a continuous and natural movement. An amniotic and profoundly physical experience within oneself that frees the nervous system and leads us to experience authentic freedom, joy, unity, and life. A true awakening to the rediscovery of oneself.

Tatto Interno has offered me endless stimuli for practice and reflection, and since my experience is so recent, I think it will be a long time before my thoughts can reach the moments of deep listening and awareness through the body that I have been able to experience thanks to these encounters. What I now clearly feel is that I have begun to learn a language with which to dialogue with my body, through an exchange of awareness and choice. A precious way of encountering space, a new vision of ourselves in the world, a tangible tool for our evolution, and, finally, a practice of mutual listening, based on an honest, lucid, and profound alliance between human beings.

Even though I’ve been practicing Tatto Interno with you for about 10 years in sessions that begin as shiatsu, this group work was unexpectedly powerful for me. It helped me integrate what I had already learned with a new set of information that leads to the search for the true needs of one’s body, but also to the search for an authentic self at an ever deeper level. I’m not talking about the theoretical information, although very interesting, which I accepted more as communication on an energetic, vibrational level than as rational knowledge; I’m talking about the information that comes from the activities, which are expertly progressive until they lead to a “space” that is as free as it is present and aware. The group gave me the impression of a beautiful, harmonious “fluid” (not water, not air…), in movement as orderly as… or not, converging on your guiding energy as a pivot from which to “be there,” each in their own personal expression. The particularly interesting point is that, through the increasingly profound, subtle identification of habitual contractions in the body, we come to identify the blocks in our “being,” with ourselves, in relationships, and in life in general. Thank you so much!

I don’t know how thought forms manifest in my body; I half-close my eyes and no longer see others or myself. I don’t know how we swelled into cumulus clouds, frayed into cirrus clouds, stretched along the entire horizon while our edges ignited in the sunset. I only know that I was a cloud, and I knew the exact position of the zenith, and the strength of the moonlight, and the key to dawn, and how I had to represent them with my body. Beyond being, the cloud protects, restores, and sees. What does it see? On the damp earth, the blooming flowers. The red-roofed houses. The civilizations toiling in streets, streets, streets, like signs in an alphabet that never manages to formulate the words it desires. And then civilization began to walk backward. I did it on my elbows and knees. Backward, back in time, to the age of the mammoths […] When the exercise ended, I was kneeling as if in prayer, and I felt great because I’ve never seen a cloud with knee problems. And what is more real, a diagnostic MRI, or the living and continuous resonance that we are?

Tatto Interno was a bit of a journey inside and outside the body, a joyful encounter with the infinite, the micro and the macro, with an energy that is both subtle and powerful. It was very important to find all this in a clarified form, thanks to the clear and delicate guidance. It left me with many questions and curiosities, and a desire to delve deeper.

After the first two-day workshop, I felt a tension that had been holding me back for months unblocked. This experience left me with a sensitivity and awareness of my body and its internal movements that I hadn’t had before.

I’ve long sensed that the simple act of dancing influences other levels of the human being, even very profound ones. I feel, from the effects it has and always has had on me, and from the effects I see on my students, that dance has a deeper power than the “merely” aesthetic, artistic, and healing appearance of movement. This weekend of inner touch gave me unequivocal confirmation of this. I was profoundly struck by the power and wisdom of the body. I remain speechless, incredulous, and moved by such grandiose wonder. The body is an entity endowed with memory, intelligence, and good intentions, capable of improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the being to which it belongs. A source, a powerful ally.

With my eyes closed / Trying to feel myself / There is something more / That can not be expressed / A floating river / Reaching every cell / A shaking vibration / Moves my body / Through the space / And in the space / Going where it is needed / To heal / Overfloating waters / Breathing clouds / Extending the inner perception / I can cry so deep / In that state of being / Breathing my pain / Withouth judging mind / Withouth control / In presence / I can feel myself / Connected / To every cell / Of the universe

I’m not a dancer, not a movement educator, nor a holistic practitioner… I work with numbers and laws, yet I found myself happily at ease there among the group of young and not-so-young people who had come from all over central Italy to attend the Tatto Interno seminar. There were so many stimuli to help me listen to my body, to explore it even to its most unknown depths, and… at the end, I received so many inputs that I was a bit confused and perplexed, almost afraid of losing, upon leaving that space and that atmosphere that had lulled us for two days, what I had captured, of forgetting everything afterwards… I simply thought I had to metabolize everything slowly, letting every thought about it slip away. In fact: The next day, when I woke up, the usual stretching in bed—well, it wasn’t the same anymore, it was looser, deeper, more interactive, and engaging. But then the long-awaited morning coffee brought me back to my usual routine, almost as if I didn’t immediately want to seek the positive effect of Tatto Interno, the improvement it was already bringing to my being. After a few days, I got on my bike, my passion in moments of leisure, and wow, I was pleasantly overwhelmed by a fantastic sensation: an unexpected, subtle perception of being in the saddle with my entire body and with my entire being; the repeated movements to turn the wheels no longer involved just my quadriceps but my entire body, making me savor the sensation of being less tired, more flexible, more harmonious in my movements, lighter, so much so that I felt like I could fly… Tatto Interno is now my companion in waking up, and not only.

Tatto Interno was an unexpected and beautiful surprise for me on my life and dance journey. I enjoyed the depth of the concepts shared as well as the clarity of the leader in expressing them and sharing them with the group.

I felt great emotion and joy in listening and getting closer to my deepest energy through guided and precise listening. It was wonderful to feel, listen, and abandon myself, through micro-movements, and to know that within my body lies such precious and important physical and energetic potential. A potential to be cultivated, nurtured, listened to, and lived. I can only describe this experience as wonderful and definitely one to repeat.

It was a powerful and unique experience that allowed me to see things from a different perspective. I had a long tail of emotions and energetic flows for the days to come, and now that I’m facing and clashing with other people, I can manage things with a clear mind and a firmness I didn’t have before. I’m calm and relaxed, yet alert.

“A fantastic experience to explore and amplify my body perception and awareness. It allowed me for the first time to understand how the fascia works and how it can be used to release tension and stress that builds up during the day. It was a journey within myself, discovering parts of the body and movements I never thought existed. A truly unforgettable experience.”

Only after the seminar did I browse the Tatto Interno website, finding interesting confirmation of what I’d explored over the weekend. I really enjoy moving backward from pure perception to conceptualization when it comes to working with the body. What I received is a real technique that, as such, I was able to put into practice even in my living room, thus recalling, with simple steps, the access to listening to my fascial movement. I’m referring specifically to the seated exercise. So far, doing the exercise alone has made me feel less intense than during the seminar. I think the support of a focused group of people, as well as the guidance of the teacher, helps. Nevertheless, it works even alone! And this is transmitting a technique. A completely innovative technique for me; I had never listened to the fascial movement before. Furthermore, I managed to get rid of some interscapular pain I was having. I sincerely hope it continues to work. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a seminar so rich in theory and grounded in so many different disciplines, of which one could sense the in-depth study. Starting from such a rich theoretical foundation and then receiving such precise practice/technique was certainly a valuable asset to take with me. I’m inspired by movement, the importance and healing power of movement, thinking outside the context of symmetry and preconceived form, listening to movement, letting yourself be surprised and guided. Feeling and following what works, without judgment, even when it doesn’t move as we imagined. The intuition of creative and healing potential that this type of listening to the impulse of movement inspires in me is amazing.

The study of Tatto Interno helps me bring together intuitions and studies, resonates with me, and amplifies my knowledge. Regarding the work I occasionally propose in the I.C. using the three states of water: solid, liquid, and gaseous, Tatto Interno has given me new perspectives on different, variable muscle tones and their relationship with the fascia. I want to do it again to better assimilate the well-expressed concepts.

Immersing yourself in the exploration of every possible and most hidden recess, floating in the fluid supported by the breath.

Becoming aware of the true unity of the body, and the interconnectedness of each movement, through the real perception refined during the phases proposed by the workshop was powerful. There are no concepts that can match direct experience, but the work done on a theoretical basis and the subsequent practical part achieved a fascinating goal within me: restoring a sense of internal continuity, of fluidity, of bodily wisdom.
